You already have a MyHeritage file. A DNA Story is a different reading of that same file. You do not buy a new kit, and your MyHeritage results stay where they are.

Get your MyHeritage file
These steps match our MyHeritage upload guide, which follows MyHeritage's help page checked on 14 Oct 2026. This page does not give a marker count, because that help page does not publish one.
- Sign in at myheritage.com. Open the DNA tab, then Manage DNA kits.
- On your MyHeritage kit, open the three dots and choose Download. Continue, accept the terms, and continue again.
- MyHeritage emails a download link. That link is valid for 24 hours. Enter your password on the site and download the file.
- The file to use is the .csv. A zip of that file is fine too.
Check the file free
The free file check runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. It accepts a MyHeritage .csv or a .zip of that file. It shows whether the file opens, that it came from MyHeritage, the SNP count, and how many of 29 common trait markers it reads (taste, lactose, caffeine, sleep timing, and muscle fiber). It does not say what the markers mean.
You send the file to us only after you buy, from the private link in the order email.

Your MyHeritage file and a DNA Story
MarkerView and DNA Complete (formerly Nebula) listed AncestryDNA and 23andMe files, not MyHeritage, in our upload guide's comparison (prices checked 14 Oct 2026). My Gene Story accepts the MyHeritage .csv. The table below is that file next to the DNA Story.

Limits
Download appears only after DNA results are published, and only for the kit manager. A kit that was uploaded to MyHeritage from another company cannot be downloaded there. Get that file from the company that ran the test.
A DNA Story covers wellness traits. It does not include disease reports. A likelihood is not a certainty. A medical question belongs with a clinician or a genetic counselor.
FAQ
Can I download MyHeritage raw data on an iPhone?
No. MyHeritage's help page, checked for our upload guide on 14 Oct 2026, says the download works on a computer or an Android device, not on an iPhone or an iPad.
Why is there no Download button?
MyHeritage shows Download only after your DNA results are published, and only to the manager of the kit. The person the kit is assigned to cannot download it.
Is the file uploaded during the free check?
No. The free check runs in your browser and accepts a MyHeritage .csv or a .zip of that file. Nothing is uploaded. You send the file only after you buy, from the private link in the order email.
How long do you keep my file?
If you buy a DNA Story, we delete your raw file 30 days after we deliver your report, or sooner if you ask. We do not sell your genetic data, and we don't use it for research or advertising.
What if my file can't be read?
