Privacy

This page is a placeholder for counsel. It describes, in plain language, how My Gene Story intends to handle personal information on mygenestory.com. It is not the final policy.

What we ask for

  • Email and shipping country when you join an interest list
  • An optional first name on those forms
  • Your email, plus a raw DNA file name and size, when you submit an upload request. Our site checks your DNA file on your device and does not upload it. After you order, we email you, and you send us the file by replying with it attached or with a share link (for example Google Drive or Dropbox).
  • Payment details only if you buy a trait report, processed by Shopify

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your genetic data. Interest lists are not a bulk email blast.

Site analytics

Vercel Web Analytics records page views on this site. It does not use cookies, and it does not receive your DNA file. Google Analytics 4 also records page visits. It uses cookies. It does not receive your DNA file.

How long we keep it

Waitlist entries are stored so we can contact you about the list you joined. An upload receipt records the file name, size, provider, and your email. Our site checks your DNA file on your device and does not upload it. After you order, we email you, and you send us the file by replying with it attached or with a share link (for example Google Drive or Dropbox). We delete your raw DNA file 30 days after we deliver your DNA Story. Email ask@mygenestory.com with "Privacy" in the subject if you have a privacy question.
